Bingley gearing up for 2018.

Winter Update:

Touch wood but so far we have made it through another flood free winter and pre-season nets are now a few weeks in. We are netting and Bingley Grammar School on Sundays 5pm-7pm. So far attendance has been good, all senior players and juniors who want to play senior cricket are welcome to come and enjoy honing their skills in preparation for 2018. New players are always welcome.

The new signings to the club have settled in well so far and we look forward to seeing them in B&B shirts this season. Speaking of club shirts we are delighted to announce a new kit deal with Rochdale based manufacturer ICON. Orders can be placed at the club's signing on night on Friday 2nd March. Alternatively place an order at the link below:

Another event to keep in your diary is the Quiz Night which is on Friday 23rd March. Details are on our page.

The first team are shaping up well and will be led this season by wicket-keeper Matthew Duce. There is also a change in the 2nd team leadership as Warren Allit takes a second stint as skipper taking over from Matthew Keeton. Warren will lead a young side who will hope to challenge for promotion to the Premier Division. The third team will again be led by Adam Swallow. After a league restructuring in the Craven League the 3rd team have been promoted to the unprecedented level of Division 2. This will be a big step up for the 3rd team as we will be competing against a Division entirely made up of 1st XI's except for Haworth Road II who won the division last year but are unable to be promoted.

Eldwick & Gilstead CC have ended their tenancy with us and will play their home games at Riddelsden CC next season. E&G will also join us in Div.2 this year.

Although there are good signs as the season approaches we will again need the effort of our membership to keep this great club going and moving forward. Cricket clubs in the area seem to be folding more than expanding and it is only through the dedication of the people who run the club that we will continue to thrive. With the 3rd team now at the level of taking on the 1st teams of the Craven League and our pitch over the river laying vacant every other week, getting a forth team out needs to be the aim of this club, what an achievement it would be.
