Bradford and Bingley RFC

Following the end of the recruitment phase Bradford & Bingley are pleased to announce that 23 players have been contracted to play for the 1st XV next season. This will allow for the club to adapt to life in a new league with Nic Corrigan & Stuart Dixon’s job quite clear from the whole of the club. Promotion back to National 2 North will only do.
There are still four players to be confirmed as signings once their terms are agreed they will be released as squad members.

“ I am delighted to be working with this squad for next season. As I have previously stated at the AGM this is the flagship team and the success of my tenure will be judged on this squad – that is my pressure and a great challenge which the club has given to me. That is not to say I am totally focused on the 1st XV. Our 2XV coaches will be our eyes and ears on the ground on what I hope will be a league that challenges players. I have been clear to players that those not selected for match day 1st XV will play in the 2XV league to give them game time and allow them to compete in another competition.
We have a clear aim for promotion but this is not going to be easy, National 3 North as league last year was a tough one with clubs just missing out and the difference can be as much as bonus point in a game. This club cannot and will not be arrogant to how we compete, we need to start climbing back to where we can be not talking about how it use to be.
We have had a decent pre-season to date however; we need to really focus now on being better than decent and starting to work to realize our potential and hopefully show all what we can do. Saturday 31st July saw the players on team building in a remote area of Lancashire this was their fifth session of the week and all bought into what was a good day challenging the players in a different way.
I can only hope that the committee, members and supporters of the club will all be part of this season by showing the teams their support.”
