Cancellations - Sunday 18th December
U14 YYHL at Ben Rhydding cancelled on Health & Safety grounds
Despite waiting until the very last minute before they bit the bullet, the nominated pitch organisers, Ben Rhydding HC, had no option but to cancel todays U14 YYHL session. They was mightily disappointed, as we all were, particularly as despite the cold weather earlier in the week they had managed to continue with all their training sessions.
Unfortunately the overnight temperatures and the humidity in the Wharfe Valley led to a white frost forming on their pitch and it was deemed treacherous and unplayable.
Don't forget that weather permitting Stuart is still running training sessions over the Christmas period but unless the temperature rises in Thornton to above 6C or 7C for at least a whole day then I doubt it will be fit this coming Wednesday. When I saw it on Saturday lunchtime it looked like a glacial sheet! Keep an eye on Pitchero for any bulletins.
