All Hornets games cancelled

Home and way fixtures canned by frozen ground, as overnight temps as low as -8.2C

Despite optimistic hopes of a 10:15am pitch inspection, both the 1st Team game against Iron Acton and the B Team fixture against Long Ashton, were cancelled due to frozen pitches.

There was hope yesterday when the Town Council declared the pitches as playable but with overnight temperature plummeting there was really only one outcome.

In addition to this, the latest forecast suggests that it will start snowing in BS32 at around 1pm today and will have a dump of around 3cm before turning to rain tonight. This would have mean't the opposition would be travelling home in the worse conditions.

The good news is that the Hornets Nest will be open for business at 4pm this afternoon. Those chilled beers are likely to be that little bit colder by this afternoon. Plenty of live sport to watch on telly to enjoy with your team mates.
