With the whole local area buzzing about the Charity game tomorrow at the JC, the Bradley Stoke squad were in good spirits this week and the management duo of Mark Wilkes and Craig Tucker are excited by the challenge ahead.
Mark Wilkes commented, “This is a great opportunity for our lads to play against some ex-pros and celebrities. Hopefully they will learn a lot from the game and can take it on board for next season. Playing ex-pros is fantastic and all the lads are egger to show what they’ve got. There are some big local names playing, personally Tom White ex-Yeovil defender who I remember fondly is a highlight but also the Heart Angels!!”
Craig Tucker added “I know we are up against it the mayor has pulled a sneaky one including some current semi pros in his squad of older heads giving him a really dangerous balance.
However I know we have our own weapons that we plan to make the most of.
I an personally excited getting the chance to play against my childhood heros and I am definatley out for the win but at the end of the day the most imporant thing is helping to raise loads of money for childline and aunty esther. Definatley a very worthy cause!”
With the Bradley Stoke squad a combination of all four teams it will be interesting to see how they gel but Wilkes and Tucker don’t have many concerns.
Mark Wilkes said” Unfortunately Graeme Marshall has been ruled out with injury following our recent training camp, but Paul Zambrzycki has been drafted in and I’m sure he will do a great job. There are a couple of other injury concerns with Nathan Corney coming back after ankle trouble and also Craig Potter making his long awaited comeback after being injured for most of the season, this of course had nothing to do with the 1st Team having a female physio!! We have also made the decision this evening to draft in James Collis-Pritchard as extra cover but everyone will certainly get a decent run out. We’ve got a great squad for tomorrow and will certainly give the mayor a run for his money!!!”
With the weather looking good for tomorrow and the prospect of an entertaining afternoon of football, the Bradley Stoke Town squad are hoping for a good crowd and an electric atmosphere to cheer them on and raise money for charity in what should be a fantastic event.
