Currently, all games are still on, but expect this to change as the temperature is set to plunge across Bristol. Should the games go ahead, there are some big opportunities for all four sides to take some points.
Rich Sears’ First team have the chance to redeem last weekend’s loss to De Veys against third from bottom Iron Acton Reserves. The Firsts beat Iron Acton First team in a pre-season friendly last summer, so will be expecting all three points at this home match.
Sears will be without Liam Dixon, Craig Potter and possibly Adam Hay but could see the return of Adam Townsend and Matt Burgess.
John Welsh will be hoping his team have their shooting boots on as they face Brimsham Green Reserves. These two teams met in the week before Christmas, with the Reserves thoroughly outplaying their opponents only to miss a barrage of chances that could have seen them win the game by ten.
As it turned out, the Reserves scored four, but Welsh will be hoping for a much better return this time round.
The ‘A’ Team face Stockwood Wanderers Reserves in a match that could lift them up to 12th in the table. Stockwood are currently six points above Craig Tucker’s team and this is a game that the young manager will be expecting to take something from.
In perhaps the toughest fixture for any of the BSTFC teams this weekend, the ‘B’ Team face Long Ashton ‘A’. The ‘B’ team have had a tough time of late, losing their last four games in a spell that has seen them drop down the league to 6th place.
They are however, only two wins away from 3rd spot and their season is far from over. The first thing they need to do is overcome Long Ashton.
The First Team and the ‘B’ Team both welcome teams to The Hornet’s Nest while the Reserves and the ‘A’ Team all travel away. The bar will be open from 4pm regardless of whether games are on or off. It is important that everyone continues to support the bar, and even if your game is called off, please make the effort to come along for a drink and a laugh.
Tour deposits of £50 are also due and are payable to Bradley Clark.
Brad, it is not the end of the B Teams season, the remaining fixtures plus the recent cancellations have yet to be arranged. They will be playing 21 games (each team 3 times)
I thought it seemed a bit strange! I'll get it changed
