This week’s match saw the Sharks play the Chelmsford Colts. It was a bright a sunny day but the sunshine was rather deceiving, as it was still very cold.

The Sharks had previously played the Colts at the start of the season and having lost that match 23-2 the Sharks knew they would be in for a very tough match.

However, despite the final outcome this match was quite different to their previous encounter. The Sharks started brightly and proved that they could certainly match their opponents in the passing and skills departments. In the first couple of sessions of the match (even though the Colts were a few goals up) there wasn’t a lot in it.

In the middle of the match the Colts started to make their goal attempts count and they did pull away in the scoring stakes.

The Sharks didn’t give up and carried on plugging away and in the final couple of sessions they managed some goals of their own, the scorers being Eve 1 goal & Chloe 2 goals. However, unfortunately by that stage they had too much to do and ended up losing the match 10-3.

Despite the 10-3 defeat this result must be taken in context with the Sharks previous meeting with the Colts and proves just how much they have improved as a team since the beginning of the season. This time around they made much more of a game of it and were unfortunate not to have had added to their goal tally, for on a number of occasions they saw their shots narrowly missing or bouncing off the rim of the net.

Well done to all of the girls and better luck for the next match.
