In the shadow of the Castle on the Hill
Mid November and almost warm - our 9's took the relatively short journey down to Sandal for the morning.
With a three pitch setup we prepped for a round robin day with teams joining us on the max size pitch prepared. With reduced size teams it created a very open running game, but that wasn't our forte today. The opposition sized us up each game and took a double tackle option as the safe route to close down our chances. It wasn't long before bodies and hearts we aching from the well timed, intense tackles our girls were taking. Never did they give up though. There is no 'Magic sponge' just the kind words from supportive parents and the encouragement of team mates and coaches and every one of the team worked through the challenges and came out the other side.
Yes the scorelines were not in our favour , it helped highlight many areas where we can develop , but our team finished the day together and wanting to find the way to help each other, and parents will be once again letting school know about the Rugby bruises their children will be sporting for the coming week!
