The inquest is going on as to why Bream lost this game to Spartans.
The start was held up because Spartans could not field a full side, and when the game did start Bream were quickly into their stride. The first twenty minutes were all bream with tries from Captain Sean James
, Andrew cooper and carl rogers
, Peter Pritchard added two conversions. But then complacency set in and Breams poor defence allowed Spartans to slowly get points on the board. Three tries later and two conversions and Bream were lucky to reach half time tying 19 points all.
In the second half it was nip and tuck with Bream taking the lead again from a well taken try for Adrian Peacy after a forward rumble of at least 20 yards. Spartans hit straight back with a penalty. Then poor defence from Bream's backs allowed Spartans to take the lead with a converted try. Bream then get the forwards working well again to take the lead with a try from front row forward Clive Ryder. But Bream persisted in kicking good ball away instead of holding on to it and Spartans were quick to exploit Breams poor defence, and they had the last shout with a converted try to win the match.
