Elvers Under 11s enter the Scarborough Festival

Brentwood Elvers Under 11s have become the first team from outside the heartlands of rugby league, ever to enter the Scarborough Festival.

The festival is scheduled to take place on 8-10 June 2012 and will give the under 11s the opportunity to test their skills against players from the North of England. Also featuring are many famous names from the world of amature rugby league including Skirlaugh, Crosfields, Oulton Raiders, Blackbrook, Dudley Hill, Shevington Sharks, West Hull, East Hull, Orrell St James and the host club, the Yorkshire Coast Titans.

Responding to the Elvers' application, the organisers, Breakaway Tours said: "We hope [Brentwood's appearance] is the first step towards making [The Scarborough] festival a truly national event."

Leading the team in Scarborough will be Head Minis Coach, Carl Horsman, and Arran Smith.

Here's hoping that, as well as performing to the best of our ability, we will make some lasting friendships with clubs from the traditional heartlands of the game.

If you have a player in the under 11s and are interested in what promises to be a fantastic weekend, please speak to Carl or Arran at training or contact Carl via this website.
