Welcome to Brentwood RFC's U6's home page
Brentwood Rugby Football Club (BRFC) is celebrating its 75th Anniversary this season 1935-2011, and are planning for a complete redevelopment of a new club house. Its exciting times at our great club and we would love you and your family to be a part of it. In the Mini-Midi section of the club, we have just over 200 children of mixed experience and playing abilities. Some have played rugby with us since the Under 6’s and some are new to the world of rugby this season.
We believe success is measured, not from how many trophies we win, but by how much each and every player improves. This approach has enabled us to develop as one of the most promising and successful sides in the county whilst at the same time giving all our players’ equal game time and training development as much as possible.
Due to not running an ‘A Team/B Team’ system there is not a ‘them and us’ environment within the squads and we are proud that all our players feel part of the same team.
We play with determination and guts but whether we win or lose our boys are taught to always respect our opponents throughout the game and at the final whistle - then we celebrate or commiserate!
The Mini-Midi section is for players U6 – U12. Our U6/U7/U8 play tag non-contact rugby, with the U9/U10/U11/U12 playing contact, so a gum shield is mandatory.
The 2010-2011 season was extremely successful for these ages groups, and we need to build on this success with new players in all ages groups.
If you are interested in joining our great group of players, please can you email kevin@kmeadows.co.uk with your child’s name and age and the next training session you can attend? Whether your child joins in the session, or just comes along to spectate, it will be good to see you at the club.
If watching your child and not taking part is frustrating, each age group has a demand for many helpers whether on or off the pitch. The club will fund any training and provide CRB checks for any parent wishing to follow their child through the age groups.
Clothing; please wear boots (bring trainers too if the ground is really dry), sports shirt and shorts, and bring a sports bottle full of water. A gum shield is mandatory if your child is in the U9-U12’s.
