Brentwood Town Ladies started 2012 with a 3-0 home defeat against Cambridge Women at Chadfields.
Blues had plenty of opportunities to trouble their opponents as they sought to build on a 1-1 draw against Ebbsfleet United in their previous League outing, but an early goal from Natalie Richardson initially rocked Town before second-half strikes by Hannah Goodchild and Sophie Thompson decisively guided the visitors to victory.
