After three successive defeats in which no goals were scored, Brigg were looking to recapture their earlier season form with a re-arranged fixture against neighbours Lincoln United. Liam Davis made an impressive debut in place of the unavailoable Mike Smith. Danny Buttle and Anthony Bowsley were also back in the starting line up and there was a welcome return on the bench for Joe Lamplough, who was injured after just twenty minutes of play a week earlier. The game proved to be one of two contrasting halves with Brigg two goals ahead by half time but then subjected to Lincoln pressure for most of the second period.
The home team won a free kick on the left wing in their first attack but this was cleared out as far as Bruno Holden, who tried to feed the ball back to Danny Buttle but it ran into touch. Two minutes later, Danny Buttle won a corner kick but the ball was cleared quickly enabling Lincoln to counter attack.
After six minutes, the first goal was scored when Daniel Ricketts progressed down the right wing and delivered a cross to the near post for Bruno Holden to knock the ball into the back of the net at the second attempt. Continuing to push forward with a slight wind advantage, Brigg won another corner kick on the left which was swung dangerously into the goal area but goalkeeper Craig Turner was fouled. Lincoln began to win more possession and Craig Leverett was well tackled by Alan Lamb on the edge of the area. Then Jordan Hempenstall sent a dipping shot over the cross bar.
Brigg doubled their lead after twenty six minutes of play when LEE COCHRANE got forward into the goal area to meet a free kick delivered by Liam Dickens from near the half way line, rising to head the ball into the roof of the net.
Lincoln responded positively and began to put the Brigg defence under some pressure. Jordan Hempenstall had a fierce shot deflected towards goal but Tom Woodhead made a good diving save to turn the ball round the post Shortly before the half- time whistle, a free kick from the left into the Brigg penalty area was headed across goal for Stuart Reddington but he blasted his shot over the bar from a short distance out.

Brigg began the second half on the offensive, winning a right wing corner kick in their first attack but the ball was cleared out of the penalty area. When the visitors won a free kick in mid-field, the ball was played forward towards the home goal but Tom Woodhead was alert to come off his line quickly to catch it. Brigg responded with Danny Buttle crossing for Bruno Holden to controlt with his chest and arm before striking a shot over the bar.Lincoln reduced the arrears ten minutes into the half when Anthony Bowsley was penalised for a foul on the edge of the area in a central position and SCOTT COUPLAND found the top corner of the net with his well flighted free kick. This brought the visitors back into the game and they began to enjoy more amd more possession with ex Lincoln City star Terry Fleming controlling the mid field area. They managed to find the back of the net on a couple of occasions but the first was ruled out for an off-side decision and the second for a foul against Tom Woodhead on the goal line. Brigg defended their lead to the end and succeeded in taking the precious three points from the game.
