Brigg Town 0 Sheffield 2
Sheffield started this game confidently with Matt Roney and Steve Woolley combining well before getting the ball to Andy Gascoigne, whose shot was saved by Tom Woodhead and then Matt Varley's header was blocked from the corner kick.
ANDY GASCOIGNE opened the scoring for the visitors after just five minutes of play following a break down the left wing by James Knowles who pulled the ball back for the striker to drill a left foot shot past Tom Woodhead into the bottom of the net. This gave the visitors plenty of confidence and they generally dominated the play thereafter, missing out on several chances to add to the scoreline. Despite this, Brigg also created a few opportunities to get back level by half time. A terrific free kick from Connor Marshall from thirty yards out went just over Dan Whatsize's cross- bar and Rob Northern was on the end of a right wing cross to get under the ball to lift his shot over the bar.
Sheffield continued to dominate the game in the second half and Brigg produced few opportunities for getting an equalising goal. The visitors had to wait until twelve minutes from the end before making the game safe with a second goal.
When the ball was played in from the right wing across the penalty area, MARTIN FOSTER had time and space to find the top corner of the net for a well taken goal.
