The Zebras visit Bottesford Town tomorrow.

Tomorrow’s friendly is a derby at Bottesford. So far Brigg Town have won two out of two in pre-season. They beat Scunthorpe United Academy (3-2) and Lincoln United U21 (1-0). A third consecutive win would be good, but far from easy against a higher team. Bottesford are two leagues higher and will provide a stern test. They’re also more experienced than Scunthorpe’s Academy and Lincoln’s U21 side.

Brigg’s squad is different with five in and four out. George Merrick, Charlie Dolling, Cameron Hill, Jonny Nicholls and Joe Smithson have all returned. The latter hasn’t played for almost a year due to a long term injury – it will be great to see him back in action. On a lower note, Will Forrest, Sam East, Michael Jaksics and Matt Steeper are unavailable. Five players will start on the substitute’s bench. They’ll be more than likely to come on though.

Last time these sides met was back in October. That was in the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy. Brigg lost 3-1 despite making a very promising start. Jonny Nicholls scored the first goal then had another wrongly disallowed. Bottesford responded with three goals to book their place in the quarter finals. Tomorrow it promises to be a different story.

What will happen this time?
