The joint manager on his football career, Paul Grimes and plans for next season.

How long have you been playing football?

“I’ve played football since I was a very young age. It was always something I have loved watching and playing as a kid.”

Do you support a team?

“Yes, I support Aston Villa and used to watch Scunthorpe United before I started playing.”

What clubs have you played for in your career?

“Nettleham, Bottesford Town, Barton Town Old Boys, Goole, Frickley Athletic, Grantham Town and Brigg Town.”

Have you always been a defender?

“I’ve been known to play up front and started last season at Bottesford as a striker, but my best position is centre back.”

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

“My highlight is winning the cup final for Lincolnshire County U18’s. At Brigg it would be making The Evo-Stik play offs a fair few seasons ago under Steve Housham.”

What’s it like having Paul Grimes as joint manager?

“It’s great to have him! We’ve grown up together and been mates all our lives so we know how each other works. We both want the same things with regards to Brigg Town. Hopefully we’ll prove we are a good managerial pair along with Rob Watson.”

Lastly, what do you hope to achieve with Brigg Town next season?

“To win the league and go straight back up. We’ll class the season as a failure without securing promotion even though we know it's a very tough league. We back ourselves, the players currently here and new players who we’re bringing in.”

Thanks to Scott for his interview.
