The newly formed Brighouse under 10’s travelled to Bradford academy to take on Bradford Dudley Hill. Starting strong Josh Riley grabbed an early score. Dudley Hill bounced straight back letting the lads know there was a game to play and it wouldn’t be easy. Josh Riley again jinxed his way through the defence to get his second Robbie Butterworth converting. Dudley Hill again responded. Brighouse moved the ball well and gained good ground on all of their plays mounting pressure on their opposition’s line, Lucas Birts getting in on the action as a result and converting. Dudley Hill again responded out wider after exploiting gaps before Josh Riley completed his hat-trick proving once again too strong, Veron Dhesi adding the extras for a 22 – 12 half time lead.
Second half Dudley Hill scored twice with one kick levelling the game but this gave the team the kick they needed to pull together and step up their defensive work. Robbie Butterworth scored straight from a re-start, Veron Dhesi got his first of the season and Josh Riley got another two with Bailey Blacka adding a goal. Final score 40 – 22 a very pleasing effort and the lads first victory.
