The new Brighouse under 10’s faced Wibsey Warriors in their first ever match together and they soon had the lead through Josh Riley jinxing his way over the line and adding the conversion. Robbie Butterworth added a second in a similar fashion as the team looked strong in attack and defence. However struggling to get back onside quick enough and giving a few penalties’ away allowed Wibsey to get back in the game two scores and goals levelled things up. Riley crossed again before another two Wibsey scores. Josh Riley then completed his hat-trick but Wibsey stretched their lead again. Rangers never gave up and Lucas Birts finished off a super kick through by Will Clerehugh but it wasn’t enough to deny the warriors. Final score 28 – 26 a very good first game and i'm sure this team will get stronger as the season progresses.
