Rangers made the short trip over to calderdale collage to take on king cross from the championship with strong belief of getting to the final at brighouse but a strong defence met rangers with king cross throwing everything at them and some strong running from zak dewhirst but it was brighouse who scored 1st with some neat passes from stu proctor and ross young finding ben collins out wide neil walton landed the convertion, rangers started taking control with some strong running from walton,andrew 'choc' walters and wayne jowett before a neat short pass from proctor sent in scott bradley walton converted from under the post king cross kept coming up the hill but were met by the solid rangers defence only the running of dewhirst really caused brighouse problems. Gav midgley was next to cross for rangers with some neat footwork walton again converting then jowett seemed like he was gunna go over in the corner before jinking over to the right of the post fellowing a massive fend this time karl frankland landing the conversion which put rangers 0-24 at the break rangers knew they had 1 foot in the final but knew they wo to expect everything thrown at that after the restart which king cross did lee brook and cross's no6 trying to find a way through the rangers defence but to no avail dispite some excellent running from young dewhirst unfortunately for him he was having to take nearly every drive soon tiring cross had to take him off and down to 12 men after cross's captain was sin bined for a high tackle thats when rangers finished the game 2 excellent passes from both proctor and young finding steve wood out wide and he took advantage and stepped inside to score rangers 5th try convertion was missed but rangers now led 0-28 and the aim now was not to conceed but with 5 minutes to go cross's no9 darted over from acting half.
