Tomorrow night’s potential showdown between two brothers has been put on hold for a week after Guiseley’s home derby against Brighouse Town was postponed due to the cold weather.

The West Riding County Cup second-round tie could have seen Danny Boshell, of the home side, come up against his brother Nicky, who plays for Town, but the sides will now meet on Tuesday, December 7, because the Nethermoor pitch has already been declared unfit.

Four other local sides are due to play in the county cup tomorrow but their matches are subject to pitch inspections.

Eccleshill United, who were reinstated into the competition after their conquerors Bradford Park Avenue were deemed to have fielded an ineligible player in Chib Chilaka, are due to host Thackley.

Liversedge should be at home against Pontefract Collieries, while Farsley are preparing to make the journey to Harrogate Railway Athletic.

All clubs fear the worst, given that there appears to be no imminent let-up in the arctic conditions.
