BPA v BTAFC

T&A Review

A positive for Avenue this week was their progress to the West Riding County Cup semi-final thanks to a 4-1 win over Brighouse Town.

The line-up for Wednesday’s victory was subjected to changes as many of the new signings were cup-tied and striker Chris Hall was rested but man of the moment Mark Bett started and levelled the tie after Town had taken the lead.

“It was nice to end up winning by the margin we did. It was down to a very good second half by the team,” continued Sinnott.

“Town gave us a test and were obviously very much in the tie when they took the lead so we are glad that we eventually went through. It was also pleasing that our four goals all came from different scorers.

“There were no obvious problems regarding injuries but we will have to wait until Saturday morning to make sure.

“With the last three games being in the space of five days you have to be very careful. Mark is on a very good run of goals per game and Luke Gibson looked very good after stepping up from the reserves.

“Rory Patterson’s goal on Wednesday will have boost-ed his confidence after more than a month out with a knee ligament injury.

“Andy Campbell and Chris Hall will be kept on their toes by the others chipping in with goals and that can only be good for the club.”
