Brighouse Town officials have been working overtime to complete their complete revamp of their dressing rooms, match officials room, manager's office and toilets in readiness for the first pre-season game on Saturday, July 8 at home to FC Halifax Town.
The FA ordered all non-league clubs to increase the size of the visitor's dressing rooms, improve on toilet and shower facilities and also enlarge the room for match officials and make sure there were separate facilities for women, with more and more girls and ladies turning to refereeing, before March 2018 or face demotion.
Led by retired joiner and committeeman Ellis Aked, retired engineer and Development coach Barry Thomas and ex-assistant manager and local builder and roofer Mark Booth, with valued assistant from Trevor Moore, Trevor Priestley, Will Armitage and Harry Wentworth, the stage has been reached this week where now the plumbers are due in before door casings and doors go on plus tiles from Al-Murad of Heckmondwike and 50 litres of paint courtesy of former Football League sponsors Johnstone's Paints of Birstall.
On top of Howarth Timber's great contribution of three weeks ago, Travis Perkins, also on Wakefield Road, Brighouse, have donated two toilets and an electric shower unit.
Chairman Charlie Tolley said this had been a tremendous effort over the past two weeks with more work to be put in and added that committeeman Will Armitage had called for a `Works Day' at the ground for committee, the Ladies team and supporters on Saturday, week, June 23.
