In a very even contest Town did their pre season preparations no harm whatsoever against their higher league opposition. Town led for 65 minutes before a host of changes for both sides and some tired legs saw Guiseley reverse the deficit and record a narrow win.

Paul Quinn's men which included debutant Jimmy Pollard and a first pre season outing for Isaac Baldwin played some excellent football throughout. Steve Hollingworth grabbed Town's opening goal after good work from Ryan Hall saw Town's new recruit react quickest to convert from close range.
