Manager looks forward to Evo Stik campaign......

Saturday 16th August v Radcliffe Borough, 3pm, St.Giles Road.

Match Sponsor: Polyframe, Halifax

The end of August will mark 3 years in charge for Paul Quinn as Brighouse Town manager. Quinn along with assistant manager Mark Booth has overseen a period of change at the club, on and off the field, that culminated in promotion from the NCEL as champions in April.

Despite the successes of the last 3 campaigns Quinn is not resting on his laurels "last season was tremendous for the club but as far as we are now concerned it's done and dusted, history. We will, of course, be looking to use all the momentum from last season in the early part of the campaign, however, it's now about looking ahead, setting new goals and moving the club forward."

Quinn has once again shuffled the pack in terms of the coaching staff with Rob Wilson permanently appointed as first team coach. "As with the playing staff we always look to freshen up the coaching side of things close season. A fresh perspective is always beneficial for the place. Rob did a terrific job towards the end of last season and his experience was invaluable, so it was a no brainier to ask Rob to make it long term."

In addition to Rob Wilson joining on a permanent basis Paul Regan has joined the club from Ovenden. "I have known Reggsy for a while and he expressed an interest in joining us at the end of last season. Reggsy has a range of expertise where perhaps we had a few gaps and he also has a lot of local contacts, it's a great addition for the club." said Quinn.

On the season ahead Quinn insists the players can play with no pressure and will be deemed as underdogs in the Evo Stik league. "We will need to hit the ground running, the first few games are important to help us get an indication of where we are. We will be a bit of an unknown quantity and certainly not considered favourites which is a great position to be in. We will need to learn very quickly at this level in what is a tough and unforgiving league. As a club we must ensure we are as competitive as possible. We have to keep progressing and improving there is no time to stand still. We will be giving it a real go and let's see where it takes us. It is certainly a really exciting time for everyone at the club."

Town kick-off their Evo Stik campaign at home to Radcliffe Borough on Saturday at 3pm.
