Town exit Emirates FA Cup

2 years ago By BTAFC Admin

Brighouse Town 0-2 Newton Aycliffe

Town's FA Cup dreams are over for another year after a frustrating afternoon at the Dual Seal Stadium. Despite having the majority of possession and territory for long periods , a combination of poor finishing, disallowed goals and resilient defending meant Town drew a blank for this first time this season.

The visitors scored two well taken goals immediately before and after the interval and despite piling the pressure on Newton, Town could not find the finishing touch to the build up play.

Congratulations to Newton Aycliffe we wish you every success in the next round. A full match report will be published shortly.

Next week we return to league action when we visit Radcliffe Borough.
