EASTER MONDAY'S postponement at Ossett Town's Ingfield ground for snow and waterlogging sees Brighouse Town playing there tonight (7.45) and then entertaining Glossop North End on Saturday (3.0) and Mossley on Monday night in another re-arranged game (7.45).
Three games in five days and at such a crucial stage of the season with Town's precarious position second from bottom but manager Vill Powell's coach Leon Wainman when he heard on Tuesday afternoon, exclaimed: "bring it on."
Town will not be on their own tonight after the league asked clubs to try and fix the postponed bank holiday games up between themselves. Matches are also taking place at Atherton Collieries, Colwyn Bay, Radcliffe Borough and Tadcaster Albion. Only one game took place on Monday, promotion chasing Hyde United defeating Droyslden 2-1 on their 4G pitch.
Tonight's game will also clear suspended players Tom Haigh and Oran Thompson to put them into the mix for the Glossop and Mossley games to cushion the blow of losing converted wing back Jack Normanton injured in last Thursday's U-21s game with Knaresborough. Town also have back in contention for tonight's game, Huddersfield Town midfielder Isaac Marriott who has been on tour to Germany and Spain with the Terriers' U-18 squad over Easter and the week preceding the holiday weekend.
Apart from Normanton's knee injury there is a clean bill of health at the club and messrs Powell and Wainman will have a headache tonight and Saturday sorting their sides, but its a good position to be in.
"We might have midfielder Adam Jones missing at Ossett through work but he was trying to get time off," said Powell.
"I also told the players on Tuesday night I wanted 100% out of them in every game now or they could be on their bikes. I looked right into their eyes and there was a real feeling coming back to me that they would be up for this challenge."
