Midfield Maestro Connor Witherspoon Joins pacey forward Tom Richardson (pictured) at Regent for the new season

"Both Connor & Tom will add quality to what I believe is an already very strong squad"

We are extremely pleased to announce the signing of Connor Witherspoon & Tom Richardson

Connor boasts lots of Ryman League experience, even at the tender age of 21; he's had spells at East Thurrock, Brentwood & Hornchurch among others.

Connor is a hard-working central midfield player that likes to get on the ball & play. He has all the attributes & a fantastic attitude for the game to become a key player in the Regent midfield.

Tom Richardson, who was announced last week, adds to an already strong front line, giving the manager some great options. Tom, like Connor, played at Brentwood last season were he scored 10 goals. Tom has also had spells at Romford & Thurrock.

Tom has been on the club’s radar for the last 18 months. The manager identified early his interest to sign an out & out number nine & Tom ticked all the boxes. He’s extremely hard working, very quick & enjoys the physical challenge of the game. Tom’s equally happy playing in a lone striker role or in a two, which again was important to the manager.

On behalf of everyone at Brightlingsea Regent I would like to welcome both Connor & Tom to the R’s

Webster said on the players "Both Connor & Tom will add quality to what I believe is an already very strong squad. Tom has been a player I've admired for some time now. Chris (Smith) was key to getting Tom, having worked with him in the past."

"Likewise as soon as we heard Connor might be available we moved very quick to meet him & thankfully get him signed. Connor, for such a young man, has bags of experience at Ryman League level & is a very talented footballer. I'm over the moon both chose to join us & I'm looking forward to working with both."

UP THE REGENT!!
