Lawford 1 - 4 Brightlingsea Under 18's

Brightlingsea U18s continued there excellent pre-season with a convincing win at Lawford.

Both teams started well but it was Brightlingsea that looked the most like scoring.

Some great interchange between Hodder and Kangandu set Hodder away and he made no mistake with a clinical finish.

Lawford equalised with a well taken free kick but Brightlingsea continued to cause the home team problems with some excellent football.
Half Time 1-1

Brightlingsea scored very early on in the second half when Charlie Lindhoe cut in from the right and struck a sweet left footed curling effort into the top corner.

Playing against a physically stronger opposition did not deter the team and they more than matched Lawford in that department.

Ross Brazitis scored two late goals, the first when he beat the offside trap to cooly slot home, the second when he pounced upon a defensive error and lashed home from close range.

This was an excellent team display and the boys can take great confidence from this victory.
