Brightlingsea Regent v Harlow Town

Good dispay sees Regent run out comfortable winners.

On a warm and breezy day Brightlingsea Regent U21,s welcomed Harlow Town to North Road for their second home match looking to bounce back from an unlucky defeat at Sudbury the previous week.Circumstances meant Adrian picked a very young side with 4 U 18,s in the squad with Byron Hatch at right back ,Rob Harvey and Rocha up front and Harry White on the bench. The game started with Regent on the front foot without really causing the Harlow keeper any problems. The hard pitch and final pass were the main reason for this.Harlows main threat was the long ball over the top which their tall no10 chased down a couple of times which Dan Beeson had to be lively in goal to clear away. Finally in the 35th minute we were awarded a penalty when Ross Brazitis was brushed off the ball and the ref pointed to the spot with no hesitation. It looked a bit soft but Charlie Lindoe took the pen and despatched it home.Just 3 minutes later a break down the right saw Jordon Barnett try his luck from 25 yards out and his shot cum cross flew into the roof of the net over the keepers head. Two nil at half time. The second half was a very scrappy affair with both teams giving away possesion and not many chances created at all.On one rare Harlow break Alex Taylor did well to block and clear an effort. However on 78 minutes a great piece of foward play saw Rob Harvey flick on a pass into his strike partners path which Rocha collected and calmly slotted the ball past the keeper.Byron was replaced with Harry White with Tyler swapping to right back and Harry on the left. From another Regent attack the ball in the Harlow area was cleared to Charlie Thompson who slammed his shot low into the net for 4-0 which is how it finished.A satisfactory display and a fair result on the balance of play and only a bit more composure in the final third and more conviction stopped it being an even more comprehensive result. My mom was Jordon Barnett who worked ttirelessly and controlled the middle of the park. Now played 4 won 2 lost 2 with both victories at home so we move on to our next game away at Cheshunt looking for our first away points.Up the R,s⚽️
