If the March-April form of the top four was played out across the season, they would be 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th.
The reason for this is that the last 6 weeks have seen five head-to-heads between the top 4 teams.
We have earned 10 points in the last 6 games, where we had 100% win rate in the preceding 6, gaining 18 points.
New Bradwell, as well, have gained 10 points in the last 6 games, whereas they earned 16 in the preceding 6.
Kent have emerged the better with 12 points to Hale Leys 11 in the last 6 games, having previously earned 14 and 13 respectively.
Whilst we have been having it amongst ourselves, Pitstone & Ivinghoe have been winning games and have sidled up, a point behind us, however we have a game in hand.
So what can happen...?
Well, Hale Leys are Champs, that has been the case for a couple of weeks now and congratulations to them on a fantastic season.
With regards to the rest:
Kent Athletic - Max poss pts - 67 (2 games left)
New Bradwell SP - Max poss pts - 66 (3 games left)
Brimsdown - Max poss pts - 65 (3 games left)
We travel to EALING TOWN on Thursday.
Ealing had a wonderfully productive March, winning four of their six games, with three of those wins coming in away games. April has been a different story though, on the wrong end of 6 goals twice sandwiching (is that a verb?) a worthy 1-1 draw with Totternhoe.
Due to their fixture build up, our game against them will be their fourth in the week.
Meanwhile, the situation has been the opposite for us. The Limers have suffered from long gaps before crucial games. Fourteen days without a game before the Kent game, eleven days before the New Bradwell game and now twelve days of inactivity before this one.
No excuses, but having gone over half the season unbeaten, we would have liked to have kept that momentum going into those games but have come up 2 or 3 points short of where we wanted to be.
Anyway, we have an opportunity to take back third place from New Bradwell and close the gap on Kent Athletic to two points.
It is a tense situation, but when I spoke to Marvin, he was as relaxed as ever and focusing on what is required on Thursday.
So there we are until Thursday.
The significance of the result cannot be understated. We need another win. Simples.
Give a good shout out to the fellas for Thursday's game on our facebook page, twitter, website, flipagram, email, android/apple app or instagram - in fact, any way that you can, we would just love you to show us some support for what we are trying to achieve for football in Brimsdown.
We are nearly there.
We met all our objectives last year, being our first season, and it has been a record breaking AND setting season for us so far this season. Now our objectives are even more ambitious this year and yet we are so near to our goals, so give a shout to the fellas who are doing it for us - representing football in our area in the National Leagues.
COME ON THE LIMERS!!!
