Brize Norton 1-1 Bourton Rovers
Brize remain unbeaten at home after tough top of table clash.
After suffering their first loss last weekend, Brize were looking to bounce straight back against tough opposition in Bourton Rovers.
Brize Norton lined up like this;
GK Steve Marshall
CB Scott Bamford
CB Dan Leverton
CB Ross Parker
RWB Gez Morgan
CM Rob Hook
CM John Oswald
CM Jake Farrugia
LWB Matt Parsloe
ST Adam Davis
ST Richard Duffy
SUBS Toby Goodwin, Haydn Parker, Joe Henry
The game started very evenly with Brize slightly edging it in terms of chances and possession. Things then turned on it its head, with not for the first time this season, another 'dodgy' penalty given against us, this time Bourton had one of their players fouled outside the area, only for ref to play advantage, but a 2nd Bourton player then went down in the area. Referee blew for a penalty instead of going back to the original foul. Bourton scored the resulting penalty. 3rd penalty in 4 games Steve Marshall has had to face.
Bourton's lead didn't last long, Scott Bamford found himself with loads of space on the right, it all opened up for him just to run into, he crossed in and found Adam Davis who smashed in his first goal for Brize Norton.
2nd half started, very even game with not a lot to report. Ross Parker had to go off with an injury and on came Toby Goodwin, which meant Rob Hook had to go back to a position he loves at CB. The game was just petering out, Rob then made his last to substitutions Top scorer Haydn Parker came on for Richard Duffy and debutant Joe Henry came on for the goalscorer Adam Davis.
Tight game against a team that will be challenging come the end of the season.
MOM went to Gezz Morgan who played at RWB, position he's not played before, he excelled, players who usually play there will be looking over their shoulders.
