A second tournament victory in a month for Tim Roberts under 11 side

Broadbridge Heath under 11s followed up their five-a-side tournament win at Shoreham a few weeks back by coming away from the Lancing six-a-side event with the winners medals.

The tournament is deemed to be one of the largest on the coast and Heath had to overcome some very tough opposition with teams coming from far and wide to participate.

Seven teams made up the groups, which went on to quarter-finals, semis and then a final.

Heath drew Patcham A in their group which was strongly contested with both Heath and Patcham A being unbeaten, level on points and progressing into the knockout stage.

On the way to the final Heath knocked out Patcham B and Hollingbury Hawks to face Patchm A once again in the final.

The final was a thrilling affair with missed opportunities from both teams, some last ditch tackling and great saves but with penalties looming Finn Edgar passed the ball through to Dane McConnell on the edge of the area who setup Zain Beg to rifle a shot low into the bottom corner in the last minute of extra time to give the Bears a well deserved victory.

Heath also got news that they have been promoted to Division One of the Sussex Sunday Youth League for next season and manager Tim Roberts would love to hear from any ambitious players wanting to join the team, call Tim on 07966 164075 or timfootballcoach@yahoo.com
