The end of an era for the Reserve Section and changes to Under 21/23 divisions

On Tuesday 15th May the SCFL made the following announcement.

Reserve Section
As cubs are aware discussions have been ongoing for some weeks regarding the future of the Reserve Section, following the withdrawal of three teams during the past season. All applicable clubs were contacted in recent weeks, and unfortunately there was insufficient commitment from member clubs, consequently at a meeting of the league’s management committee yesterday, the decision was taken to discontinue the Reserve Section with effect from the coming season.

Under 21
At the same time clubs were also asked about their thoughts regarding converting the existing Under 21 Divisions to Under 23. This has resulted in a clear majority of clubs being in favour of such a move. Consequently the decision was also taken to convert to Under 23 as from the coming season. This will continue to be run primarily as a ‘midweek’ competition.

What does this mean to Broadbridge Heath Football Club?
The senior section will be running the following sides next season, First team, a new Under 23 team, Under 18 team and the Reserves will be playing in the West Sussex Football League.

The Veterans will continue as normal.
