Local Derby permitting!

10 months ago By Adam Checkley

We make the short trip to Heath Hayes tonight...but maybe postponed!

Our on/off derby with Heath Hayes is again scheduled for tonight, but with the incessant rain, there is a potential we may have to delay by another 24 hours.

That said, the team have planned for every eventuality with two squads picked depending on the day of the game. Regardless of either night, regular keeper Connor McCarthy will be missing with Connor Alderman starting. Tom Vaughan will also be missing as will Kenny Devoir and Joel Powell. However, it will be a return back to Heath Hayes for Joe Hartshorne and Harry Phillips, with both looking to impress and Hartshorne looking to build on a stunning strike from last week.

Heath Hayes enter the game in 13th position, 8 points above the Badgers. Their last game saw them win 1-0 at home to Bolehall Swifts with a creditable draw away at Paget the game before. Home form has been a struggle this season with only 3 wins in 13 games, although with 25 goals for and only 37 against, it suggests the home ties have been close for the most part.

As always, Regan Smith is the one to watch with an excellent 24 goals in 32 games for the home side, a phenomenal return for the forward. We will keep you posted as to whether the game is played today or tomorrow, just keep an eye on our Twitter feed @broctonfc .
