MATCH PREVIEW: The road to Wembley starts with a trip to Kirby

2 months ago By Adam Checkley

We face Kirby Muxloe away in the FA Vase tomorrow.

Tomorrow's match sees our first foray into the FA Vase as we visit former Midland Football Premier Division colleagues Kirby Muxloe. Kirby are currently in the United Counties League, also a Step 6 side like ourselves playing in Division One of that league.

So far this season, Kirby have lost two games, won one and draw one which sees them 14th in the league. However, their last game was an epic match drawing 2-2 and winning 7-8 on pens. However, the two losses have been heavy with a 6-0 reverse to Holbeach United and a 5-1 loss to Desborough Town.

The Badgers enter the match on the back of a good unbeaten run since the loss to Uttoxeter Town. Currently sat 6th in the league and our best start to a season for a long while, Kevin and the squad will head to Leicestershire in confidence but very aware of the threat Kirby pose. In our last meeting in April 2015, Kirby ran out 2-1 winners the year they finished 5th in the MFL Premier Division and Gary Fife scoring our goal (who else!).

The 2018/19 Brocton side will be looking to better their 14/15 team efforts with an away win and a progression to the next round.
