Jethro Jarrett's late strike gives the Badgers all three points
A finely balanced and thoroughly entertaining match went almost to the last kick until substitute Jarrett stole the show.

Brocton 1 Paget Rangers 0
This was a battling performance against a direct and physical side with uncompromising rearguard and competitive forwards. From the start Brocton were constantly getting turned, having to fight for every ball and under threat from a speedy and well organised Paget Rangers front line. Whenever Brocton managed to clear from the back, with Keiren Nelson, Kenny Devoir and Alex Scott imperious in the air, the ball was pumped back into the danger area.
Slowly though, Brocton began to pose a threat of their own, with Josh Wilson able to put good through balls into the channels for the willing runs of Jack Weldon and Matt Kimmins.
Neither side could create a clear opportunity on goal but Paget managed to win a succession of corners and free kicks and were able to send up their big men from the back. They looked dangerous but the Brocton defence held firm and Mark Wiggins in goal gave everyone confidence with his clean handling and commanding presence.
Brocton made some chances as the game wore on with the best falling to Kimmins after a fine interchange of passes between Scott and Jack Weldon. Kimmins hesitated just a fraction to set himself for the shot and it was time enough for him to be wrestled off the ball.
The seeds were sown though and it was Kimmins later who provided a powerful low cross which no Brocton player could get a toe to and Paget’s defence were powerless to intercept. The chance went wide.
A goal less first half was nevertheless vibrant and poised on a knife edge. Both sides went close but the longer the game went, the more likely a nil nil draw seemed. With the final whistle almost due, whilst the players were still giving their all for a win, the spectators would all have welcomed a well earned draw.
Then Jethro Jarrett popped up in the box, with the ball loose and gave the Badgers all three points with a timely strike with barely any time for the visitors to even try to reply. The loss was hard on Paget Rangers, but a great lift and reward for a hard working and disciplined Brocton performance.
