Bromley win 2-0 despite 95 degree heat

Bromley's second of three tour games was a tough encounter against Polisportiva Grisignano And the weather played its part in the game.Having kicked off in the blazing heat found there opposition bossing the field of play . With players from Bromley mainly slipping on a hot and hard 3G pitch found this played a major factor when the game livened up. Both sides were cancelling out each other in all departments . But the hot climate had taken its first of two Bromley players. In an attack minutes before is departure , Rueben Mcpherson pace caused havoc to the some what slow defenders getting balls into danger areas . On his third attempted Rueben's run resulted in is last touch in the game. He was withdrawn from the match after heat stroke had taking its toll on our danger man. Despite that Bromley went in 1-0 with another strike of quality from Bonner McGuire. . Guy Thompson, Andy Skeet were pretty concerned if the players cannot perform anymore as the squad already stretched to the limit and some players looking exhausted and physically drained that would of consider abandoning the game despite a number of water breaks in the first half.
Bromley only brought out 13 players for this farewell tour so was already a problem with the personnel on the field of play. Our other striker also came off Dejoun Pedro-Johnson for a brief spell prior to scoring a cracking goal Dejoun's upper body strength was key has he shrugged off the defender and with a cool finish when faced one on one with the goalkeeper . Despite the temperature in its early 90 degrees . The players throughout this encounter used there heads and should maturity in keep ball and making runs where needed . This was more apparent when Nick Kelliher was also withdrawn because of the weather . The Players showed so much true Grit , character and determination to keep the game simple as possible .
This made it two wins in a row scoring six goals and conceding none.

After reviewing the players condition mentally and physically the management made the decision not to play a third game as we have found the weather to be hotter than expected and temperatures rising and for the boys recovery time .

Bromley wish to thank all parents and relatives that made this a trip to remember the 33 party including Youth Secretary Alton Francis enjoyed a great farewell tour.
