We understand that Bill's obituary notice will be in the Scotsman on the 31st with his funeral service being held at Murrayfield Church on 3rd January at 12.15pm where the Club will be well represented.

The SRU said Bill was "An absolute gent" and Dale Lyon, former Edinburgh Uni Coach who played many times for the Borderers, said Bill was "one of the last from an age now gone within sport."

Broughton RFC and the Edinburgh Borderers RFC of course have many decades of history together and the Club are always invited to the Borderers Dinner, where Bill kept the room entertained with his witty tales and humour.
