'Old age and treachery will always beat youth and exuberance'

This Saturday the Under 30's will yet again challenge the Over 30's at Fortress Wardie. With a youthful team captained by the ever young James Atkins he leads his troops out in a game no Under 30s team has ever won.

Paddy Power have already stopped taking bets on a 43 - 3 win for the Over 30's after a flood of bets from the Edinburgh area.

Duncan Nicholson, yes the man that retired 2 weeks ago, leads the Over 30's out for what is just a routine game of putting the youth in their place. 'I'm sick of these kids, us older player do all the hard graft during the game, breaking the gain line, winning line outs, scrums and making the breaks and then these young whipper snappers just take the plaudits when we send them over the try line, well it ends today, no more, on Saturday we feast on on their fear'

Andrew Cox, in his final few months of being an Under 30 was in confident mood 'I know fine well that I have the pace, skill and ability to beat the Over 30s on my own, but with a few other guys we will easily beat them, they have nothing up front, nothing in defence and nothing in attack'

After the game of the season, the club hosts its annual awards night in the clubhouse. With over 70 members attending ranging from players from both the men's and women's teams, ex players and supporters, it is sure to be a fab night that will see a few folk worse for wear in the morning.
