This Saturday is not only and early start for those up to watch the 1st Lions Test but we are opening the doors of the Club at 7.30am for the start of our annual NatWest Rugbyforce Weekend.
The majority of Grass Roots Clubs facilities are managed by their volunteer members. Some of our pitch work is done by a groundsman but we need your help with the rest.
Can you tinker with any of our broken equipment and get it back in action?
Do you have a strimmer or jet washer you can bring do help out Saturday or Sunday?
We need a wheelbarrow or two , spades, rakes, hoes etc.
Our faithful Alakadoos Alan, Barry, Dave & Dennis who do so many unnoticed jobs can't keep doing it for ever and need to hand tasks on.
Barry will be on site at 12 Noon Saturday to demo how to change the floodlights; so please try and support him with this.
Christine as ever will be there firing up the BBQ and providing liquid refreshments free for all who kindly give us their time.
We know people have busy lives and other commitments but if you really can't spare even half an hour over the weekend then please can you consider donating what you can to our pitch fundraising appeal.
The initial target was £3000 to add to the funds given as part of this years Natwest Rugbyforce project to action the advice provided by Twickenham Head Groundsman Keith Kent.
We set the extended target at £5000. Initial data showed we could reach over £14,000. We have had 319 visits, which with a £10 pledge alone would take us over our initial target but only a core 27 have pledged resulting in a current balance of £550; we're waiting for that payday flourish!
The basic work advised comes in at £7000 and that does not look at any work on pitch 5 or ongoing cost during the season.
There are officially 35 weeks of the season. Making a pledge now of £10, £20 or £30 is putting less than an additional £1 per week for this coming season.
Thank you in advance
