Fighting for our pride
We made the short trip to LSH this weekend and the Sun was shining and we had again a changed side, but the lads were in good spirits and we had the passion to have a go at LSH on there own pitch.
The game started at a high tempo but our defence stood strong for a good spell, until LSH with there huge centres made some yards and drew there man and park line was breached.
A massive blow early doors meant the David Corr had to limp off the field, maybe I have jinxed him making him 2nd team captain he has been injured for most of it, I just hope this was a knock and nothing serious.
LSH pushed and pulled us to pieces and were scoring tries at a great rate, the lads were happy to hear the half time whistle.
One thing I will say is our heads don’t go down we pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off and carry on, we changed our attitude in the 2nd half and had a real go at LSH,
Mark Flynn, replaced Barry in the row and we had a bash at them upfront.
It was the forwards dominance that resulted in our only try and it was that man Nathan Reid who really does show his passion and desire to play rugby week in week out, a great forwards try even though we were screaming at William for silver ball.
(will told me afterwards he was never going to pass it out as he believed his forwards would score).
I must mention some names today, Alf Sherwin played at number 8, good solid display for the utility Cumbria man. (didn’t see any of his trade mark hand offs though??), Bezo, the back row man, he has been outstanding this season and again today on a losing side, this lad deserves some wins.
But the biggest mention goes to one time colt Craig Beswick, he ran all day, and tackled all day and played out of his socks in a team that is having that sinking feeling its always good to see the positive sides that the lads wont give up fighting. Well done Craig my Man of the Match.
Lads we have two games left to restore some pride, so please can you attempt to train and support the cause and help us finish with a bang.
