STOP PRESS: OLD LATINS ARE IN, GOURMET FOOD VAN FOR THE EVENING, TWO MAJOR AUCTION LOTS, DJ EDWARDS ON THE DECKS, BAR EXTENSION TO MIDNIGHT.

Seriously...... what more could you ask for? Well read on.....

The 16th Harper-Wood & Pot Belly Farmer Annual Charity Rugby Tournament is ready to rock and roll on Tuesday 27th December.

The event has been donated two very special pieces of rugby memoriablia to auction off after the games with all proceeds going to the charity pot:

Dan Carter Signed Rugby Ball
An Adidas rugby ball signed by record test points scorer in international rugby and 114 time capped All Black legend Dan Carter.

Dan Carter Signed All Black Jersey
A 2015 Rugby World Cup Adidas All Blacks jersey signed by two time world cup winner and record international points scorer Dan Carter. Jersey comes in a limited edition commemorative box.

We have also been fortunate to book a GOURMET FOOD VAN to join us from 5pm and to keep us fed during the evening when the BBQ has finished. Check this out: http://www.cluckingoinks.co.uk

As usual we could do with a couple of volunteers to help out on the day. To volunteer your services, if only for one hour during this charity fundraiser, please visit: http://tinyurl.com/harper-wood

After the dashing duo of Harper and Mackway have dealt with the competition awards (does anyone know where the trophy is hiding?), the auction and post-match boat races (to be held in the marquee - yes we have a heated marquee again), we will be entertained by probably the best musician to have ever broken his leg on the patio at Buckingham Rugby Club during a summer ball while wearing a velvet tuxedo as Mr Mark Edwards will be hitting the decks.

The following teams are now confirmed....

Bulldogs
Akeley Wood Old Boys
Buckingham Select XV
Harper-Woods
Pot Belly Farmers
Old Latins

Meet time for players is 12 noon. Two pools with the first games kicking off at 1pm sharp. £15 per player - £5 per spectator. And spectators are ask not to be tight as that is a recommended MINIMUM donation!

The nominated charities for 2016...

MacMillan Nurses
Cancer seemingly has a never ending impact on the club and MacMillan has been a mainstay in our beneficiaries for many years. We are proud to continue to support all the great work they do for not only those close to the club but across the UK.

Huntington’s Disease
Following the very sad news that just last week Mark ‘Scotty’ Gordon lost his battle with Huntington’s at just 58 year of age, the same torturous disease that took his father at a similar age. A well-loved member of the club and a character during the 80's and 90's, our thoughts are with his family

forCrohns
The only charity set up specifically to support research into Crohns, a disease suffered by a number of past and present members of BRUFC, and one often overlooked by mainstream fundraising groups.

Kirk Nokes Memorial Fund
A fund set up in the memory of Kirk Nokes who lost his life in a car accident in 2008, together with 3 of his friends. Over the years the fund has supported the local rugby community, particular the youth sections, with timely donations to provide kit and equipment. The fund also donates to CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) in memory of Kirk's younger sister Sally Wells.

There will be mulled wine and mince pies served from the kitchen, a professional coffee barista selling a range of coffee, a BBQ from 1pm until 4pm, and of course the bar will be open for the duration.

Should the weather look like it will impact in some way on the day the social side will still go ahead. Please keep an eye on the website for updates.
