Buckingham overwhelm Stockwood Park in pre-season friendly. Next game - HOME v Olney Thursday 24th on Maids Moreton Playing Fields - KO 7.30.

Buckingham visited Stockwood on Saturday for a pre season friendly, with both teams fielding large squad numbers. It was decided that the match would be played in 4 x 20 minute bursts, which worked well for the first contest of the season.

The game started with a bang, 3 tries in the first 10 minutes with a lot of new faces involved which was pleasing to see. The early signs for the season are good as Buckingham took 33 players away and with strength in depth selection is going to be difficult this season.

In attack every time Buckingham had the ball they were a threat and you felt that they could score at anytime. With a different line up every quarter it is hard to find a rhythm and form partnerships but Buckingham managed to do this in 3 out of the 4 quarters and the last quarter some sublime rugby was played scoring from the Buckingham try line in one example.

Both sides were happy with the run out and have plenty to work on. Buckingham will be happy with new faces playing very well, young players stepping up, fitness levels being high and still a month to go until the new season starts, things are looking positive for Rangers

Next game - this Thursday at home to local rivals Onley who are always a difficult test and with that difficult test brings some selection headaches already. Buckingham love the drama of playing under lights at Maids Morton playing field it should be a cracker. Please come a support the boys KO 7.30pm
