Late goal secures a valuable point for Buckley Town
Hard working Buckley hit the upright and crossbar in a hard fought game
On a sunny afternoon at Holywell, the visitors Buckley, playing deep, found Holywell in control for the opening 5 minutes. Buckley scored on 9 minutes to make it 1 nil, when Phil Molyneux headed in a Mike Thompson free kick. After 20 minutes, some good Buckley interplay led to Jacob Evans, for Buckley, forcing a good save.
On 26 minutes Holywell made it 1-1 when Matty Hendrick headed in from a corner kick. The play was then even . Asa Hamilton, for Buckley, had a chance to score but the Holywell defence stayed firm. On 44 minutes Asa Hamilton and Phil Molyneux put together a good passing move which led to a chance for Buckley to score through Coery Scarisbrick but to no avail as the teams went in level at halftime.
The second half started with Buckley playing deep to frustrate Holywell and on 62 minutes Buckley again took the lead 2-1, through a goal from Mike Thompson after running on to a through ball from Phil Molyneux.
On 74 minutes Holywell made it 2-2 from a Mark Winslade goal as Buckley failed to clear after the ball hit the woodwork.
On 84 minutes Holywell scored to make it 3-2 from a goal by Graeme Williams to lead for the first time in the match. Jacob Evans, for Buckley, hit the woodwork after 87 minutes. Then Andy Watkins scored a free kick for Buckley deep into added on time to snatch a 3-3 draw.
