On Thursday January 27th, the Bucks county Sharks Board members voted 6-1 in favour of AMNRL 2011 participation. After lengthy discussions and arguments for and against both sides the vote was taken.
Timothy McCall, club president said "Our ultimate goal for 2011 is to reintroduce rugby league to the Bucks County area once again. We feel that under the AMNRL there will be less pressure, less travel and mostly less lay out costs. At this time, due to the fact that there will be a lot of inexperienced rugby league players involved, it is best that we can walk before we run. We do not feel that we would be in the position to travel to destinations as far as Jacksonville, Boston and Pittsburgh in what will theoretically be our inaugural season. We are working tirelessly to re establish the Sharks as once again one of the forces of American Rugby league. We feel that the year away from Rugby League has pushed us back a few years, however, we feel we have the best laid out plan to catch up and to excel way beyond the state that the club was in only 3 years ago. We aim to work closely with local college's and local rugby union teams. We are not here to be a number, we are not here to step on the toes of rugby union. We are here to become the premiere summer rugby organization both here in the the Tri-State area and nationally.
I can assure you that the Sharks are back and they intend to be back with a bang in 2011."
