Pre-Season is nearly over and the hard work of the new season is about to begin. After a successful club clean up day last Saturday the grounds of the club are now considerably tidier. Many thanks for the efforts of those that put in the graft.

On to business this coming Saturday (19th August) Burley will be hosting Knaresborough in a Pre-Season clash. The fixture has added intrigue attached to it as Knaresborough will be playing in the same league as the 1st XV in the new season. Both sides will be looking to try out things that have been worked on in training, not being able to speak for Knaresborough, I'm sure the maroons will be looking to show off their fitness, guile, power, intellect, and yes even their moves/samba that they have spent the last several weeks perfecting under the summer sun (and rain). The blood, sweat, and chunder will all be worth it come Saturday as both sides seek vital momentum to take in the new season.

For those of you yet to reply to Richard 'Eager Beaver' Christie's text (more importantly why haven't you?! A quick Yes or No text to state your availability for the game is all that is required) and are available please let him know ASAP on 07816594013. Or alternatively if for some reason you have not received a text let him know either way. For those not playing (due to injury, age, Burley not having a women's or youth side, being more of a supporter than a players etc) get yourself down to join the Burley Barmy Army and cheer on the lads. Kickoff time is 1500 and as always the bar will be open for beers post game.

Full Playing Membership: £25
Student Playing Membership: £15
Social Membership: £8
Ladies Membership: £3
O.A.P Membership: £3

Money can be paid ASAP (cash or check) to either David 'Bomber' Harris, Karen Harris, Malcolm 'Mally' Sunter or by paying the correct amount and leaving you name with it at the bar.

Training continues on Tuesdays and Thursday at 1830.
