Leodiensians 18 - 40 Burley

There is not a huge amount to say about this game. Burley were up against a mature and wiley Leo'soutfit who did their upmost to disrupt the fast flowing game the maroons look to play.

The first half was dire. However, debutant Rob Harris managed to open the scoring after about ten minutes play. Leo's fought back and managed a score of their own shortly afterwards.

Burley performed better in the second half, and our fitter and faster backs scored several more tries to put the game out of reach of the home side, who were game all day.

Man of the match went to flanker Neill Robinson, who donned a Leo's shirt for the final minutes of the game. Neill also managed to win the coveted DOD award for "smashing" Andy Bissett in a rather unconventional way. Although captain Henry Bisson was lucky to escape the DOD award after his rousing pre-game speech.

Other scorers included Chris Naylor, Richard Christie, Andy Bissett and Gavin Leeman. There are others but fankly I don't remember who, and they don't count in the official stats anyway.

Training is very important this week as Burley look towards this weekend's trip to 3rd placed Harrogate Pythons. 6.30pm for a 7pm sharp start.
