If you want to understand today, you have to search yesterday.
Below is an article outlining how we propose to remember past members.
We finished our 80th season as Lancashire Cup winners. We have three senior teams. A thriving and growing junior section. Facilities that rival any junior club in the country.
But the thing that makes our club is its members, past and present.
Some of our members who are no longer with us are remembered on the honors board, a few have a tree or bench outside but for the most we have nothing. They were part of the fabric of this club and they should not be forgotten.
The proposal is to have a memorial table at the end of the bar. A place where we can gather and share a drink.
Members and friends can club together and buy a 4 X 2 inch brass plaque through the club with the name, date of birth and passing of the person to be commemorated etched on to it. The cost is £50. The club will not make any money from this initiative but if people wish to donate then that will go towards our club.
We have already found an oak table. What we need now is to measure the degree of enthusiasm for the project. If you wish to purchase a plaque as an individual or group, then contact me.

I shall be purchasing one for my little chum Paul Quare.
