All the boys can hold their heads up high.
A quick drive along the M4 took the boys to Brentford FC’s training ground, for a match against their Elite Training program squad.
The only nerves shown before this daunting challenge came from the Parents as the boys just saw it as another game.
Soon after the match started, it became clear that Burnham could more than hold their own against this team and nothing should be feared from them as time after time saw opportunities fall to both teams.
Playing 6-a side seemed to trouble Lee and Martin more than the boys as they had to search for a formation that worked and they did that well.
After 3 Quarters of the match Burnham were trailing by only 3 – 2 showing the closeness of the two teams but in the last quarter, fatigue seemed to set in and 3 goals were conceded in close secession to leave the final score of 6-2.
Lessons leaned, as again our opponents showed us a physical game which can only make us better equipped to deal with it in the future.
I can’t say there was a player of the match as all the boys worked so hard for each other, so well dome the whole team!!!
Special mention for Drew's free kick which I hope other parents wont mind. 25 yrds out, maybe 30 yrds. ended up in the top right hand corner.
Great strike little man x
