Burnham faced a stiffer challenge than we faced in October.
All the Turkey gone and the Tree down for another year, it’s back to business. In the shadow of the castle against a Windsor team that gave us an exciting match in late October, which then ended in a 1-1 draw.
This time, however was a little different, with an apparent influx of new players in the Windsor Team which made them a more formidable proposition this time round.
Windsor appeared to have changed Players in their mid-field and were now a bigger and certainly a more physical team, using their weight to barge the Burnham players off the ball whenever possible. This was a tactic that counteracted our running game, but in my opinion illegally on a few occasions. Soon after the kick-off, Windsor struck first, which I must say was with the run of play as our Boys seemed to still be thinking about unwrapping presents rather than the game in hand. A strong penalty shout was waved away by the ref, that appeared to be goal bound for Burnham before half time. A chat from Martin and Lee at the break seemed to wake the boys up a little but they were still unable to prevent a second goal going in the blues net before the end of the Match.
I’m sure that next week we shall see a sharper performance from the boys as the Christmas cobwebs and the start of the new school term have been blown away for another year.
We still watched a spirited performance from the lads, which was great to see. Well Done you Blues.

A good performance from Joe. (maybe down to the new Boots)
